For AIAM students (Applicable to students enrolled after Fall 2026)

Curriculum

The Master Program in Artificial Intelligence Applications & Management (AIAM) is designed to be completed in 4 semesters. The curriculum provides students with in-depth knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies, business analytics, and cross-industry applications. To meet the graduation requirements, students must complete a total of 35 credits, consisting of 29 credits from required and elective coursework plus 6 credits for the master's thesis.

Required Courses (6 courses, 18 credits, excluding 6-credit thesis)

For AIAM students, there will be 6 courses, which are Data Mining, Computer Programming, AI-Driven Informatics, Research Methodology, Artificial Intelligence and Seminar in AI.

A 6-credit master thesis is also required. Students must take the thesis course in the semester of taking their thesis defense examination. After passing the examination, the 6 credits for the master thesis will be given.

Besides, Mandarin I and Mandarin II with zero credits are included in the required courses as well.

Elective Courses (3 courses, 11 credits)

For the electives, there would be two tracks-one for applications and the other for management. AIAM Students could select courses they are interested in or fitting in their needs as their electives. However, they must take at least one elective course (minimum 2 credits) from the other track to get the minimum understanding of the AI development in the track.

Prerequisites

Graduate students who have not completed a course in “Statistics” at the undergraduate level shall complete at least three credits of related foundational undergraduate courses, or, upon approval of the program director, other equivalent courses. The grade obtained shall not be lower than 60.

For previous SHM students (Applicable to students enrolled before Spring 2026)

Curriculum

The Master Program in Smart Healthcare Management is completed in 4 semesters. The curriculum is designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge in information technology and medical services. The total numbers of credits to meet the graduation requirement would be 24 credits (required and elective courses) plus 6 credits from thesis.

Required Courses (8 courses, 16 credits, excluding 6-credit thesis)

For SHM students, there will be 8 courses, which are Strategy Management, Computer Programming, Healthcare System, Healthcare Informatics, Biostatistics and Research Methodology, with 16 credits in total.

A 6-credit master thesis is also required. Students must take the thesis course for at least two semesters before taking the thesis defense examination. After passing the examination, the 6 credits for the master thesis will be given.

Besides, Chinese I and Chinese II with zero credits are included in the required courses as well.

Elective Courses (3 courses, 8 credits)

For the electives, courses related to management, technology and medical service application are offered. Students could select courses they are interested in or fitting in their needs as their electives. There are some inter-college courses available in Taipei Medical University and National Taipei University of Technology. Please refer to the latest curriculum list below.

Note: Credits with “TMU” or “NTUT” mean that the courses are offered by Taipei Medical University or National Taipei University of Technology. Students should take classes at TMU or NTUT.

 *Inter-College Courses:

The inter-college courses will be released during the adding/dropping course period. You may select the courses in NTPU course selection system. However, if you wish to take an inter-college course that is NOT in the course selection system, you are required to submit an "inter-college course application" form before the adding/dropping course deadline. The process might take up to 1 month to complete. Please contact the program coordinator for application form request. You are required to provide certain information to complete the form.
